Peperomia Obtusifolia

Peperomia obtusifolia, commonly known as Baby Rubber Plant or American Rubber Plant, is a species of perennial flowering plant native to the Caribbean and northern South America. It is a member of the Piperaceae family and is known for its attractive foliage and compact growth habit.

Peperomia obtusifolia features thick, fleshy leaves that are glossy green and oval or spoon-shaped. The leaves may have a slightly waxy texture, giving them a shiny appearance. This plant is often grown as a houseplant or in indoor gardens due to its tolerance of low light conditions and its ability to thrive in containers.

It prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil. Peperomia obtusifolia is relatively low-maintenance and drought-tolerant, making it a popular choice for novice gardeners. It may produce small, greenish-white flowers on slender spikes under the right conditions, although it is primarily grown for its ornamental foliage.
